As The Legend Goes… The stork meets Mom & Dad at the hospital and they come home with a Baby!!! But the Stork News® STORK is not a legend.  He has been seen around town perched on the lawn of new parents. He leaves behind a keepsake bundle announcing the new arrival’s name, weight, and birthday!

What should you look for when choosing a Stork Rental Company?

1) Customer Service!

This should always be your first priority regardless of what type of company you do business with.  The greatest product in the world is worthless if the customer service is lousy.

As the owner of Stork News® of Columbia, I have been involved in customer service most of my adult life (over 25 years).  I take pride in making my customers happy. Although no one person or company can please 100% of the people 100% of the time, we should certainly strive to do so.  If for any reason you are not satisfied with our services, please tell me so that I may have the opportunity to correct any problem.  If I don’t know there is a problem, it is impossible to correct it.

2) The Product!

 There is a lot to consider when looking at any product you plan to buy or rent.  In the Stork Rental service, we think that personal preference of appearance is probably the single most important factor to consider.  We are no different than any other company when it comes to our own opinion of our product…we think we have the best on the market!  But should you take our word, or our competitor’s word for it?  Never!  May I offer this evidence for your consideration?

• Babies “R” Us – They decided that they were dealing with too many Stork companies in their stores across America.  As a national franchise, they wanted to be as uniform in their services as possible, so they went on a search across the country for the best looking Stork available.  Guess whom they chose? Stork News!  We have over 120 franchises in the United States, and whenever Stork News and Babies “R” Us are located in the same city, we work together to bring you the best looking Stork this country has to offer.
• May I share a comment with you from a neighbor of one of my rentals?
  “I have seen other Storks before, and I always thought that they were cute, but now that I have seen your Storks, there is no comparison, this Stork is absolutely beautiful.”

3) Product Comparison

Stork News® of America is a national franchise and has been in business for over 20 years.  We are the one and only original Newborn Announcement Service Company in the USA!  When you compare our signs to others, we think you will agree that your search for the perfect sign is over.

When Mrs. Young started the Stork News® Franchise over 20 years ago, her first Stork was made of plywood.  Today, our Storks are made of fiberglass, are much stronger and thicker than plywood, and have more of a 3-dimensional effect.  Click here to see pictures of our Stork.

What are the differences between our Storks…and the national competition?

Their Storks:

• Are made of plywood
• Are single-sided (design is only on one side)
• Are smaller than our Storks

Our life-sized Storks:

• Are made of fiberglass (thicker & stronger than plywood)
• Are double-sided (design is on both sides of the Stork)
• Are taller than our national competitors
• Are 3-dimensional (wings, button, and bow-tie are all raised from the body of the Stork)

4) Value

We feel that we offer a great value for the money.  We rent our Storks by the week for $75.00, but…when the rental period has ended, if I do not need the Stork for someone else’s yard, then I will leave the Stork for additional days without any additional charges.  There have been many times people have called me and asked me about the price, and when I tell them $75.00, they ask, “Is that all?”  Please keep in mind that I have included some extras to go along with your rental of which I don’t charge for.  You can read about these “extras” on our “Services” page and on our“Home” page.

I don’t know of any company that likes to lose business due to price, and at Stork News®, we are no different.  Are there companies out there that offer cheaper rates?  Of course there are.  There will always be someone that will copy a great idea and lower the price…but you need to compare what you receive for your dollar. Remember, the Cadillac dealer cannot sell you his car for the price of a Volkswagen Beetle.  If price is the only reason I cannot earn your business, then call me and I will see what I can do to work with you.  Please remember…in order for a business to continue to exist, it must make a profit.  If there is a reason other than price that prevents me from earning your business, I ask for the opportunity to discuss this as well…customer service starts with solving problems, not ignoring them!  Let’s see what the problem is, then we can work towards a reasonable solution.

5) See The STORK Before You Rent It!

Because of copy write and trademark laws, our beautiful Stork cannot be duplicated in its design.  If you find another company with a lower price, be sure to carefully compare so that you are not disappointed with their design after you have spent your valuable dollars.

I know of one new mother who received a Stork as a gift (while I was in the process of purchasing my franchise), and although she was very appreciative of the thought, she said she cried (literally)…because that Stork really wasn’t attractive at all (ok…I’m being nice…she said “ugly”), and she would have removed it from her yard except she didn’t want to hurt her friends feelings.  Please…whether you are giving one of our Storks as a gift for another, or renting for yourself, don’t let this scenario repeat itself. Compare, compare, compare!  Be sure you have seen the Stork you are renting first. If you prefer a different Stork design to ours, I won’t be offended…everyone has different taste.  That’s what makes this world go ‘round.   I simply suggest that you see what you are renting BEFORE you rent it.  It is too late once you have paid for the Stork if you decide you should have rented ours instead.  Well…you can still call us and we will gladly put one of our Storks up for you, but it would be a shame for you to rent two Storks when you could have paid for only one by carefully comparing first.
